Co-operative sector turnover touches Rs 7.44 crore

ANANTNAG: During the last fiscal  55 Co-operative Societies registered in the district  under J&K Co-operative Societies Act of 1989 have carried a business turnover of Rs. 7.4379 crores.
This was disclosed by Secretary to Govt. Co-operative Deportment J&K, R.K.Koul who reviewed the functioning Co-operative Sector in district on Saturday.
The meeting among others was attended by Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Anantnag, District Audit Officer, General Manager ACCB Ltd besides other field functionaries.
These Cooperative Societies have been involved in the business of fertilizer, consumer items, medicines, poultry diary. The audit of Cooperative Societies shall be conducted besides enhancement of enrolment of members and conducting of awareness camps to bring the masses in the Cooperative fold,  Koul enjoined.
He also visited CMS Khoveripora and National Poultry Co-operative Society Ltd., Mattan.
