Uri: 4 dead, 9 injured in road mishap

Baramulla: Four people were killed and nine others injured were injured when a passenger vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Uri area of this north Kashmir district.
The vehicle (JK05B/8962) was carrying passengers from Uri to Thajal village when it skidded off the road and slipped into a nallah Friday afternoon, causing injuries to at least ten people, officials told Kashmir Reader Friday. All the injured were removed to the sub-district hospital for treatment, where four of them succumbed to their injuries.
“Five of the injured were referred to SK institute of medical Sciences, Soura for specialized treatment,” Block Medical Officer (BMO), Uri, Dr Farooq Ahmad told Kashmir Reader.
The deceased have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Awan of Ramban, Imtiyaz Ahmad Kakroo of Garkote and Noor Hassan, son of Lal Din Awan, Mohammad Haneef Chopan, both residents of Thajal.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.
