Baramulla: The Auqaf-e-Islamia Thursday urged the hoteliers of this north Kashmir township to shut down their business during daytime in the coming holy month of Ramadan.
The group will use posters and banners in the township urging the hoteliers to maintain the sanctity of Ramadan by closing down the business during day time, the Auqaf officials said.
Besides, the Auqaf members will also visit hotels and fast food outlets at almost all the busy marketplaces to request them to respect the sentiments of the people.
“The hoteliers must respect this month of mercy and blessings by closing their food courts during daytime. We’ll meet them and request them personally,” president Auqaf-e-Islamia, Baramulla, Abdul Rehman Shala told Kashmir Reader.
The Auqaf, he said, will also organise religious programmes across town to highlight the significance of fasting.
General Secretary, Traders Federation, Baramulla Er Tariq Ahmad Magloo also urged the shopkeepers mostly chicken dealers, butchers and vegetable vendors to sell their commodities according to the approved rates.
