KTF cries harassment of Kashmiri traders at Lakhanpur toll post

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Traders and Federation (KTF) Wednesday castigated authorities at Lakhanpur check post for “ unnecessarily harassing” Kashmiri traders in the name of checking.
In a statement issued here KTF said the commercial taxes have setup “interrogation centre” at Lakhanpur Check post for the traders of Kashmir Valley where they do whatever they want, that makes the traders to suffer.
“Last year 32000 firms and traders were fined Rs. 30 Crores have been fined. We want to ask the commercial taxes department that in which state the government has imposed such a huge fine from the traders of their respected states,” the statement as quoting KTF’s Publicity Chief Ajaz Shahdhar said.
He said that every department showing their anger and inhumane tactics towards the business community who by all means have suffered from a very long time.
President Kashmir Traders’ Federation, Jan Mohammad Koul has appealed to the traders they should not pay any registration fees.
“KTF does not believe on cheap publicity and now SMC in the name of checking is asking huge fees from the traders, for which we warn them to stop doing such acts,” he added.
