SRINAGAR: The State Board of Technical Education Tuesday distributed question paper of Analog Electronic (new scheme) instead of old scheme to the backlog students appearing in 4th semester Diploma exam at Kashmir Government Polytechnic.
The students and their parents alleged that instead of old scheme question paper, the officials distributed papers of new scheme in Analog Electronic meant for regular candidates and not for backlog ones.
“The new scheme is not in our syllabus. 50 percent of the question paper was set from the new scheme. Out of 5 questions, I attempted only three. This is injustice,” said one of the students from SSM College of Engineering.
Students alleged that when they complained against the howler the examiner in charge rebuffed them.
“They are playing with the career of our children. I personally went to the superintendent with the complaint but he turned deaf ear,” said Mohammad Yousuf, a parent.
Several other students who appeared in the examination on Tuesday also expressed resentment against SBTE and appealed for re-examination.
Secretary SBTE, Nazir Hussain Malik confirmed the mistake and assured that the Board will take a serious note of the error.
“We will set up an expert committee and decide accordingly. If the students want grace marks we will provide them so. Or if they want a re-examination instead, we don’t have any problem provided we receive a written application from them,” Malik told Kashmir Reader.
