DeM pays tributes to ‘guest’ killed in Sopore

SRINAGAR: Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Asiya Andrabi on Monday paid glowing tributes to “guest” Mehmood Bhai, a Pakistani cadre of Lashker-e-Toiba outfit, who was killed in an encounter with police and army at Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement, Asiya also hailed the ‘bravery’ of Javaid Ahmad Matoo, a local militant who reportedly managed to escape from the encounter site.
“The exemplary courageousness shown by Javaid is very rarely seen in the world.” She also hailed what endeavor by the locals of Sopore in “saving Javaid.
“After breaking through the cordon, four armoured vehicles were chasing Javaid and people blocked their way to save him,” she said. “Seeing this endeavor by the locals, the troops got frustrated and fired indiscriminately as a result of which Arshid Ahmad was martyred,” Asiya added.
