REASI: After completion of a yearlong training in Staple Embroidery from Staple Embroidery Training Centre, Aghar Jitto, 18 girls were handed over certificates by the department of Handicraft here Thursday.
The certificates were given away to the pass outs by District Development Commissioner Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal here at a simple but impressive function.
The one year training program designed for a batch of 18 candidates with special preference to females. The main objective of this programme was to train the candidates in handicraft skills to make them self employed.
Dr Iqbal congratulated the trainees for successful completion of their course and asked them to avail maximum benefit of self-employment schemes launched by the government. He said by doing so youth would be creating self-employment avenues for themselves as well as others, which would go long way in creating employment opportunities in the area.
Assistant Director Handicrafts Manu Hansa asked the trainees to register themselves with the handicraft department to take benefit of incentives offered by it.
District Treasury Officer Arshad Choudhary, Project Officer DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra, GM DIC Krishan Lal, District Information Officer, Parvinder Kour were also present on the occasion.
