Srinagar: An army soldier along with his cousin was arrested by Maharashtra police from Kashmir for supplying heroin to another soldier.
Reports said that police seized 500 grams of heroin from an army soldier in Pune Maharashtra and during the interrogation the accused confessed that heroin had been supplied to him by a Territorial Army trooper in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district .
A team of Pune police arrived in Valley and contacted the commander of Territorial Army stationed at Hiddi, Kupwara. The Army commander accordingly handed over the accused soldier to the police team who has been identified as Naseer Mir, son of Abdul Aziz Mir, resident of Wavoora Lolab. The police team also arrested Mir’s cousin and shifted them to Maharashtra for further questioning.
Pune police has sought assistance from Kashmir police to nab the kingpin who is still at large.
