Maisuma student’s murder: 2 docs depose before court

Srinagar: Two doctors Wednesday deposed before a local court here in connection with 2009 murder of a youth from Maisuma.
The doctors, Dr Fareeda Noor and Dr Abida, told the court—Principal Sessions Judge Srinagar Rashid Ali Dar—about their findings during the post-mortem of Asrar Mushtaq Dar.
According to prosecution online chat is the genesis of the whole case. Imran Aslam Baba, (in early twenties) and his accomplice Asim Ali Vaida killed Asrar Mushtaq Dar of Maisuma here because Baba was jealous of his friendship with a Delhi girl on social networking site Orkut.
Dar was invited by Baba on July 3, 2009 to his residence at Illahi-bagh on the outskirts of Srinagar and in conspiracy with Vaida smashed his head with an iron rod. Later they threw the body at Malkhah graveyard at Rainawari here.
The killing of Asrar had sparked massive protests and shut down in Maisuma for three days before police cracked the crime, claiming involvement of the duo.
Police station Rainawari registered an (FIR No. 54/2009) carried out investigation and filed chargesheet in the court.
