SRINAGAR: A delegation of The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday met senior officials of HDFC Bank here where in they discussed various sectors of state economy.
The KCCI delegation was led by its President Sheikh Ashiq and held an interactive meeting with Dr Aditya Puri. Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Bank who was accompanied by Navin Puri, Country Head, Ravi Narayanan, Branch Banking Head and Officials Of HDFC Bank at Vivanta by Taj. A statement issued here by the chamber said they apprised Puri about the financial requirements of persons connected with handicrafts which constitute one of the largest sections of the society. Puri accepted the chamber demand and assured of liberal financing by HDFC for Handicrafts sector which includes Dastkar finance as well, it said.
It also said the matter of export related documents presently being processed for realization at Ludhiana was raised at the meeting with the officials with Puri issuing on spot instructions for starting the process of export documents at Srinagar forthwith. “It was agreed by the Managing Director that those of the sick units which are otherwise identified technically viable will be considered by the HDFC Bank for financing as new a new venture,” the statement said. The KCCI also raised the matter of providing liberal loans for the augmentation of luxury transport which he readily agreed to.
It said the HDFC Chief assured the delegation about extending the schemes of liberal financing under sustainable livelihood initiatives for weaker sections and special packages for groups of women entrepreneurs.
