Doda: People of Harshi Prem Nager, Doda are waiting for the construction of a bridge that was promised to them by the two Chief Ministers of the state.
According to the locals of the area former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah had promised to construct the bridge in 1985. However, nothing happened. 22 years later the then CM, Ghulam Nabi Azad also promised the same thing in 2007 but seven years have passed and no work has started.
People of the area say that non-construction of the bridge creates hardships for students, patients and local commuters who have to traverse through the river water.
Ishtiq Ahmed Dev, spokesperson, Doda Development Front, warned government that if the construction of bridge is not started at earliest, the DDF will come on the roads demanding its construction.
