Dir handicrafts visits North Kashmir training centres

SRINAGAR: Director Handicrafts along with senior officers of the Department visited various training centers in Baramulla and Kupwara districts.
During the visit Director Handicrafts interacted with nearly 200 trainees at various centers including Carpet Training Centre Mirgund, Tapestry Training Centre Baliharan, Carpet Training Centre Hanjiwera, Advanced Ari Training Centre, Pattan, Chain Stitch Training Centre Sangrama, Crewel Training Centre Bomai, Sozni Centre Phuropet, Kupwara, Chain Stich Advance Centre, Handwara, Sozni Training Centre, Gugloosa and Stapple Advance Training Centre, Mukam-i-Shahwali Kupwara.
The trainees expressed satisfaction with the quality of training being imparted at the centres. It was found that response at the training centres in these two districts is very encouraging.
Director Handicrafts directed Craft Development Institute, Srinagar and Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, Srinagar to organize orientation programme for the newly recruited Assistant Handicraft Training Officers so that they get a feel of the department.
The programme shall be conducting from first week of July.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the problems projected by the trainees as well as the staff members of the department and on spot directions were passed on in some cases.
Director reiterated the need to impart quality training at the training centres and emphasized on to follow the training programmes religiously.
