Srinagar: Suspected militants on Thursday hurled a grenade on a police party in north Kashmir’s Sopore town.
Officials said a grenade was hurled on a police party near Kupwara crossing adjacent to Dak Bungalow in the town. However, no one was injured in the attack.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sopore Abdul Qayoom said, “There was complete dark when the attack took place near Dak Bungalow, but thankfully no one is injured or dead.”
Soon after the attack, police’s Special Operation Group, army and paramilitary forces started searches in the area, reports said.
