SRINAGAR: RBI officials have advised Urban Cooperative Banks to complete the process of implementation of core banking solutions and allotment of Unique Customer Identification Code (UCIC).
This was stated during the 15th meeting of the State Level Task Force on Urban Cooperative Banks (TAFCUB) held at RBI, Srinagar under the Chairmanship of KK Saraf, Regional Director for J&K, Reserve Bank of India.
The meeting reviewed the performance of the Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) in the state.
The latest policy developments in the area of Urban Banking Sector and their specific issues were discussed in the meeting. The Chairman highlighted the role and importance of the UCBs in the economy of the state. He exhorted upon the banks to render exemplary services to customers in line with the regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
The Chairman stressed upon the banks to reach out to maximum number people in their respective areas so as to achieve financial inclusion while ensuring robust financial health.

The meeting was attended by Kamla Devi, Special Secretary, Cooperative Department, J&K Government, Anjana Tikoo, Additional Registrar, Co-operative Societies, Subhash Gupta, Chief Executive, National Federation of Co-operative Urban Banks, New Delhi, AK Mattu, General Manger, Reserve Bank of India, Jammu, PN Das, RBI, Central Office, Mumbai and CEOs of Urban Co-operative Banks operating in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
