Bandipora: Police have seized a consignment of contraband drugs from a vehicle in this north Kashmir district and arrested two persons.
Police said the consignment was meant for a local chemist, Irfan Ahmad Panzoo, who has been charged in the case under the NDPS Act.
“The consignment was to be delivered for Panzoo Medical Shop. The consignment came from Sopore in a Sumo vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Showkat Ahmad, of Sopore, has also been arrested and further investigations are on,” a senior police official told Kashmir Reader.
Meanwhile, Drug and Chemist Association of Bandipora observed a complete shutdown on Tuesday to protest registering of case against their counterpart “without investigations”.
The association members said that there was no original receipt with the consignment and that it’s a conspiracy to defame Panzoo.
