Financial institutions achieve 60% credit target during FY’ 13-14


BARAMULLA: The District Credit Plan for Baramulla district during the last fiscal has achieved a target of 60.89 percent with Rs. 748.37 crores provided by different financial institutions covering 37984 beneficiaries .
This was stated in District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting on Tuesday that was chaired by District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Farooq Ahmad Lone. Giving details Zonal Lead Bank Officer Baramulla said that Rs. 379.47 crore were provided under Agriculture sector, Rs.119.91 crore advanced under small enterprises sector while as Rs.60.56 crore provided under service sector and Rs.188.43 crore were advanced under Non Priority Sector during the financial year 2013-14.
The meeting was informed that against the target of 529 villages allotted to Banks for financial inclusion under FIP-II, only 310 villages have included that covered with 69250 householders. The Chairman of the meeting advised all the banks and sponsoring agencies work with cooperation, coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets. He also directed to various agencies to conduct awareness programmers at basic levels to generate awareness among the people of the district. Officers, representatives of various line departments, Banks NABARD and RBI participated.
