Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Monday issued bailable warrant against Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department over non-compliance of its orders regarding release of earned wages to three temporary/engaged workers in the department.
Hearing a contempt petition, Wali Mohammad and others Vs Commissioner SWD, a single bench of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey directed that bailable warrant in the tune of Rs 10000 be issued through Inspector General of Police Kashmir.
The court also directed that incase IGP failed to carry out the warrant, he shall appear in person before the court.
The bench passed the directions after observing non-compliance of court’s order dated October 21, 2013, wherein the Commissioner and other respondents were directed to file statement of facts and release withheld wages of the petitioners. The petitioners were represented by advocate N A Beigh.
