Srinagar: The state government on Monday ordered all the departments to submit details about casual/temporary/need based labourers, who were engaged after 31.01.1994, by the end of this month in order to complete the process for their regularization.
According to a government order, “With regard to the demand of the employees’ unions for the regularization of casual/temporary/need based labourers, engaged after 31.01.1994, the Cabinet ordered that, in order to enable the Cabinet Sub-Committee, headed by the Finance Minister, to prepare an appropriate policy in this regard, all the departments shall submit the requisite details to the Finance Department by the end of June. Serious notice will be taken of the departments which fail to do so.”
“All the departments are once again enjoined upon to furnish the requisite information on the prescribed format by June 30, failing which it shall be deemed that there are no such workers eligible for enlisting with the Cabinet Sub-Committee in the Finance Department,” the order said.
Meanwhile, the government has given sanction to constitution of a committee comprising the following for examination of the demands raised by the employees in the memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister:
Chief Secretary (Chairman); Principal Secretary to Government Planning & Development Department (Member); Principal Secretary HCM/ Finance Department (Member); and Secretary to GAD (Member).
