Mushtaq-ul-Islam’s detention ‘political vengeance’

Srinagar: Expressing resentment over the continued detention of Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) leader and chairman Muslim League, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, HCJK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah on Friday accused the state government of framing its political opponents under false cases.
“Though Mushtaq-ul-Islam’s detention is not new to us but the administration by resorting to political vengeance made it clear that they want to crackdown against pro-Hurriyat people and continue their forcible rule here,” Shah said in a statement.
“Since Mushtaq was arrested during so-called Parliamentary elections, he is being shifted from one jail to another without any reason, which is unlawful and extremely condemnable,” Shah said.
Meanwhile, a high level delegation of HCJK led by Shah visited the residence of JKLF-R leader Wajahat Qureshi on the demise of his father and expressed condolences with the bereaved family.
