Five-star Nasir bowls FCC to tight win

Doda: Medium pacer Nasir Ahmad proved to be the wrecker-n-chief, hauling five wickets to help his side Firdous Cricket Club (FCC) Doda to a close seven run victory over Combine Cricket Club in their league fixture of the 10th All India Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2014 being played at Sports Stadium Doda.
Nasir rattled CCC’s top order which laid the base for FCC successfully defending a low score of 118. FCC were helped by some reckless batting from the CCC batsmen with whole team shot out for 111. Only middle order batsmen Bilal Mujhaid (37) and Aamir 28 showed some resistance but failed to take their team through.
Earlier, thanks to Owais Shah’s 26 and a solid 20 from Haroon, FCC scrapped to 118 in the allotted 20 overs. For CCC, Mansur and Shanwaz took two wickets each.
Nasir was declared as Man of the Match for his match winning bowling spell,
Mohsin Nazar was the star performer with the bat slamming a 91 as Masood Cricket Club Bhaderwah stunned DSC Cricket Club Doda to fashion five-run victory.
Batting first, MCC put a decent total of 153 runs in 20 overs on the board. For DSC Cricket Club Doda, Farooq and Afraz took two wickets each.
Chasing 153, DSC Cricket Club Doda felt short by five runs as they were restricted to 148. For DSC Cricket Club Doda, Balvinder was the top scorer with 62 runs followed by Sapan who added 24 runs.
For MCC, Bhaderwah, Rashid took two wickets.
Mohsin walked away with man of the match award.
