SRINAGAR: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) Tuesday discussed with Financial Commissioner Industries & Commerce Khurshid Ahmad Ganai the several issues concerning handicraft sector and local industries.
“A delegation led by the Vice-President Mushtaq Ahmad Wani met Ganai. It demanded that there shall be system for awareness to artisans about different schemes devised for them and the weavers, and that a special credit facility be set up for the artisans,” KCCI said in a press statement issued here.
The delegation, it said, identified six projects that can be considered by the government for self-sustained economic development and employment generation under PPP mode.
The delegation raised the issue of compensation against the industrial units that are occupied by troops and sought revival of the sick units, it said.
