Soon after the incident, the attendants staged a protest against the ‘high-handedness’ of the security personnel in the hospital.
Hospital Medical Superintendent, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad said the cop incident was an accident.
“It was a normal delivery. The dead baby was wrapped in a blanket and kept on a table by her father. The security men were asking people to leave the ward when accidently the baby fell down,” he was quoted as saying by a local news agency GNS.
He identified the security man as Farooq Ahmad and said he has been dismissed him and handed over to police. “The hospital is not responsible for the death of the baby as she was brought dead here in the womb of her mother. The people have exaggerated the issue,” he said, adding the security man himself is the father of three daughters.
