Cop, FSL expert depose in British woman’s murder case

Srinagar: A local court here has recorded statements of a policeman and an expert from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) regarding the murder of a British woman allegedly by a Dutchman in a houseboat here last year.
The Dutchman, Richard de Wit, was present before the court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar when the policeman, a Head Constable, and the FSL expert deposed in the case.
The Head Constable was among the personnel of J&K Police who arrested the Dutchman from Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag when he was trying to flee the Valley.
24-year-old British tourist Sara Elizabeth Rose was killed inside the houseboat in the Dal Lake on April 6 last year.
Richard was arrested from the main town Qazigund when he was allegedly trying to escape. After filing a case (FIR No. 40/2013) at police station Ram Munshi Bagh, the police found him guilty of the crime and accordingly filed the charge sheet.
