Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) ordered promotions and adjustments to address the issues of staff deficiency in different subjects and also to expedite the inspection of schools, an official handout said Wednesday.
It said the DESK has adopted a two-pronged strategy for strengthening school education at the basic level of schools.
According to the Director, Mir Tariq Ali, 153 lecturers in various subjects have been adjusted on the posts to teach Sociology, History, Economics, Mathematics, Education and Political Science.
Moreover, 480 Masters have been adjusted in various schools of the Kashmir province on the available vacancies who were promoted sometime ago.
“This big step of promotions shall be immensely helpful in strengthening of the school education system at the academic front,” Mir said.
Meanwhile, Mir along with a team of officers paid surprise visit to some schools and sub-ordinate offices of district Srinagar, Budgam and Baramulla. He found that Boys High Lawaypora, Middle School Lawaypora and Boys Higher Secondary School Magam were functioning satisfactorily.
The DSEK also inspected Higher Secondary School Gund Hassi Bhat, Boys High School Narabal, Zonal Education office Magam and Zonal Education Office Kunzer. He ordered action under rules against the absentee employees and other management deficiencies in the offices.
“All CEOs have been directed to continue the inspection of schools and sub-ordinate offices with dedication and immediacy of purpose,” the handout said, adding that “acting upon the direction, CEO Anantnag paid surprise visit to various schools of his district and has recommended action under rules against some absentee employees of these schools.”
