TCS delegation visits KU: Offers to ‘train and recruit’ J&K youth

SRINAGAR: A senior delegation from Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) on Monday visited the Centre for Career Planning and Counseling (CCPC), University of Kashmir, to offer training and employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, a statement from the varsity said.
The representative from TCS said that Jammu & Kashmir had a rich talent pool of educated youth and their company had TCS are coming up with “a series of measures to train and recruit the youth from the state and to place them across India.”
Prof. Farooq Ahmed Khan, director CCPC said that the centre are having ambitious plans of providing training and employment opportunities to the youth of J&K and promoting the talent pool of the state.
He further added that the CCPC is organizing recruitment drives by leading companies like ONGC, Infosys, Accenture, HDFC and Wipro.
He advised the youth to take advantage of these opportunities and actively participate in these recruitment drives.
The statement said that the TCS is one of the leading companies in the global marketplace and among the top-10 technology firms in the world. The Company’s services portfolio consists of application development and maintenance, business intelligence, enterprise solutions, assurance, engineering and industrial services, IT infrastructure services, business process outsourcing, consulting and asset leveraged solutions.
“The company intends to train Graduates from the state of J&K for a period of 90 days and based on their performance trained graduates would be considered for placement for various positions in TCS,” the official spokesman said.
