Sopore: Police assures help to address ‘moral decline among youth’

Srinagar: A police-public meeting was held in Sopore on Sunday, according to a police spokesman.
The meeting chaired my SDPO, Sopore, was attended by “hundreds of people including mohalla committee, numberdars, chowkidars, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other eminent citizens of Pazalpora, Shiva village,” the spokesman said in a statement.
The main aim of the meeting, held at Boys High School Pazalpora, Zaingeer, to interact with the civil society at the grass root level, he said.
“The participants highlighted problems related to social evils like drug addiction, declining moral and educational standard and their resultant falling out on the youth. On this occasion on behalf of Sopore police SDPO Sopore gave assurance to the participants for better surveillance counseling and all possible help in tackling these problems and focus on more and more interaction at grass root level with the civil society to develop a healthy atmosphere to bridge the gap between police and public,” the spokesman said.
Earlier SP Sopore Abdul Qayoom held a meeting with all officers of police district Sopore and directed them to organize the police public meeting at village levels as community policing on regular basis to ensure conducive atmosphere for productive police public coordination and everlasting peace in the area.
