POONCH: Traders across the Line of Control (LOC) associated with the cross-LoC trade via Poonch-Rawalakot route Tuesday demanded increase in the number of goods allowed for trade and in the meetings held between the traders.
The demand was made at a two-and-a-half hour long meeting held between the traders from both sides of Kashmir in presence of the governments’ officials at Chakan-Da-Bagh trade facilitation centre here. “The traders in the meeting demanded increase in the trade items to 21, besides demanding an increase in the periodicity of the meetings between traders. They also demanded that the amount allowed to be carried by the traders be increased to Rs 50,000,” district officials said.
A total of 110 traders and officials, 54 of them from the Pakistan Administered Kashmir, took part in the meet.
