SRINAGAR: Surender’s 90 and four-wicket haul from Shubham fashioned Durga Cricket Club Ramban’s comprehensive victory over Pranoo Cricket Club in the inaugural match of All India 10th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship on Saturday played at Sports Stadium Doda.
Powered by a terrific batting display from Surender that saw him slam a brisk 90, DCC posted a huge total of 176 losing five wickets only in the allotted 20 overs. Sanjay also contributed 19 runs for his team.
From PCC, Fartuallah and Rizwan Khan took a brace of wickets each.
While chasing down the target of 177 runs, PCC were bundled out for a paltry total of 117 runs.
Majid with 43 runs was the highest run scorer for PCC.
For DCC, Shubham and Neeraj were the successful bowlers claiming four and three wickets respectively.
Surinder was declared as man of the match winning knock.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Doda Mubark Singh. Commanding officer of 10 RR Sunil Mishra was the Guest of honour on the inaugural function.
Speaking on the occasion after interacting with both the teams, Singh lauded the efforts of organizers for organizing the event and providing a good platform for the young budding cricketers of this region.
The tournament is organized by Young Star Cricket Club (YSCC) Doda and sponsored by J&K Bank, Bajaj Allianz and Indian Army’s Rashtriya Rifles Rajput Unit.
