2 killed in Handwara

Srinagar: Two persons were killed and a few others injured when they came under a police vehicle which overturned in Warsoo area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district late Friday evening.
A police official said that a police team had gone to attend a land dispute at Warsoo in Kupwara town of the frontier district when its vehicle (Rakshak) overturned, injuring few civilians.
Two of them later succumbed to injuries en-route to Sub District Hospital Kupwara, the official said.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Rasheed Ganie, son of Mohammad Sultan of Warsoo, and Abdul Rashid Bagad, son of Noor-ud-Din, also a resident of Warsoo.
The injured admitted to hospital have been identified Kaisair Ahmad Bagad, Altaf Ahmad, Fazil Ahmad and two constables, Nasir Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad.
Meanwhile, some reports suggest that it dispute was not over land but it was clash between National Conference and National Conference.
Meanwhile, another civilian Mohammad Shafi, stated to be an NC worker, was critically injured in a group clash at Kalaroos in the frontier district.
