SRINAGAR: A two day Inter-Zonal U-17 zonal competition in various disciplines for both boys and girls held at south Kashmir’s Anantnag district concluded on Wednesday.
Teams from 12 zones participated in the volleyball, Kho-kho and Kabbadi events.
The volleyball and Kho-kho competitions for girls were held at National Public School Sarnal, Anantnag and the boys competitions were held at Boys Higher Secondary School Anantnag in which around 300 girls and 400 boys took part.
Zone Anantnag had most titles, winning three of them.
The competitions were organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports.
In Volleyball for girls category zone Dooru beat zone Ashmuqam in the finals, and Kho-Kho title went to zone Mattan having better off zone Veerinag.
In boys category zone Anantnag beat zone Qazigund and in Kabadi zone Anantnag overpowered zone Ashmuqam.
In Kho-kho, zone Anantnag emerged victorious defeating zone Achabal in the summit clash.
Kabadi title for boys went to Achabal zone that had better off Shangas zone in the summit clash.
District Youth Services and Sports officer Anantnag Swaran Singh was the chief guest on the concluding function and gave away the prizes to the winning teams while as ZPEO Qazigund ,Manzoor Ahmad was the guest of honour.
Among others activity in charges AR Mir, AR Wagay and Mohammad Abass Dar were also present on the occasion, team in charges also attended the function.
