MCC restrictions partly relaxed in J&K

Srinagar: Election Commission of India (ECI) has partially relaxed restrictions on regular administrative work and development work of the state government.
With the announcement of the schedule for General Elections to Lok Sabha, the Model Code of Conduct came into force on March 5 which interalia imposed restrictions on regular administrative and developmental work of the state government.
Now, since the polling has been completed in the state, the ECI ordered that all normal administrative works, development activities of the state may now be taken up.
However, the ECI has said that no officials connected with the conduct of elections can be transferred till the entire election process is completed.
“No review meetings can be held by the minster or any other political functionaries with the election-related officials”, the ECI said according a General Administrative Department order issued here Tuesday for information to all the government departments.
