SRINAGAR: The newly appointed chairman Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association Arvind Singh Micky has revealed that internal probe committee that was set up to look into infamous scam unearthed in early 2012 was dissolved by association president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
JKCA elections were held on Monday to elect new office bearers with Micky appointed chairman and Farooq Abdullah continuing to be its president.
He also said that Farooq Abdullah told him that if allegations that Ahsan Mirza, had misappropriated association funds were proved, the former JKCA general secretary had assured him, “he will pay every penny back.”
“Farooq sb has dissolved internal probe committee as all the investigations into the scam would be taken by police. We can’t say anything till authentic police report comes out,” a happy looking Micky told Kashmir Reader in a brief interview soon after his surge to the post of JKCA chairman.
He said that internal probe committee internal probe committee had submitted its preliminary report but, “it was unfortunate the report was leaked to media and no secrecy was maintained.”
Micky said he resigned in protest. “The report was meant for president and general members and not for public. But it was leaked and I resigned.”
Micky claimed that Mirza had already returned two crore rupees and assured that he pay every penny if there any shortfall to his name.
