Srinagar: Forest Protection Force personnel on Monday evening had to beat a hasty retreat after they raided a house at Drugmulla village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to a local news agency GNS, the FPF personnel raided a residential house at Shah Mohalla, Drugmulla. However, it was found that the logs of timber, spotted inside the house, were brought from the Forest depot on valid documents.
As the locals got annoyed over the raid by the FPF, the latter had to flee from the spot.
Meanwhile, scores of people assembled at Drugmulla and staged protests. They alleged that the raid was carried at the behest of a local National Conference leader.
