KU’s ‘Technopreneurship Promotion’ workshop held at NIT

SRINAGAR: TePP Outreach-cum-Cluster Innovation Centre (TOCIC), University of Kashmir, organized a one day workshop on “Technopreneurship Promotion under PRISM Programme of DSIR” in collaboration with National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hazratbal here on Saturday.

The objective of the workshop was to familiarize the future engineers about the significance of technology innovation and the financial support available for technology innovation and incubation.
The Workshop was attended by the faculty and the students from NIT, Srinagar.
While delivering the welcome address Chairman Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of NIT, Srinagar, Prof Aejaz Ahmad Mir emphasized the need for sensitizing the society about technology innovation and technopreneurship development. He talked at length about the work-program of EDC at NIT to create job providers amongst the future engineers at NIT.
Dean Faculty of Engineering, University of Kashmir and Coordinator TOCIC, University of Kashmir, Prof G Mohiuddin Bhat gave a detailed presentation about significance of technology innovation and patenting.
He said that financial support ranging from Rs two to fifty lakh is available for converting an innovative idea into a working prototype, under Promotion of Innovation among Individuals, Startups and MSMEs (PRISM) scheme of Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), New Delhi.
Head of department of Mechanical Engineering, Prof G A. Harmain presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.
The Workshop was sponsored by DSIR, New Delhi.
