KUSU slams use of edu institutes as poll booths

Srinagar: Banned student organization Kashmir University Students Union(KUSU) Wednesday castigated the government for using schools and other educational institutes as election booths for the Parliamentary elections.
“The pro- India parties have cornered the pro -resistance leaders for ignoring the career of students as schools are closed on strike days but what about the closure of educational institutions in the name of elections,” the outfit said in a statement.
“The Indian authorities and their proxies have time and again for the past few weeks turned many educational institutes into either polling booths or military garrisons. Some of the educational institutes have remained shut for even three to four days,” it said.
