SRINAGAR: The 3-day 5th Sub Junior National Tong-iL-Moo-Do championship was today concluded here. The Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as 300 students belonging to Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Mahrashtra and Punjab participated in the martial art, athletic game of Tong-iL-Moo-Do. The games were played in three age groups of U- 10, U-14 and U- 17.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that athletic and sports activities are part of education which should be carried apart with learning of general education. He said all sports activities needs to be encouraged as the sound mind always remains in sound body.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner gave away the prizes and mementoes among the meritorious Athletes.
The event was organized by J&K Tong-iL-Moo-Do Association and was sponsored by the Green Valley Educational Institution, Soura.
