Asiya ‘denied’ travel documents to visit Pakistan

Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Asiya Andrabi has been denied travel documents to visit Pakistan where she was to address an International Conference on Kashmir, a statement by the DeM said here on Saturday.
“Organizers of the conference, scheduled to be held at Islamabad, had invited Asiya Andrabi to address the conference, tilted—‘Is Kashmir an issue about elections or right to self determination?’,” the statement by DeM said.
“Asiya Andrabi had contacted Regional Passport Office for getting the necessary travel documents but she was told that passport cannot be issued to her in wake of the recommendations by government,” the DeM said.
However, the organizers, DeM said, have invited Asiya for video conference on May 5.
Meanwhile, Asiya Andrabi has expressed concern over the critical condition of an old city boy Moin Bilal and prayed for his immediate recovery, the statement said.
