SRINAGAR: Chief patron JKLF-R Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, while welcoming the statement of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, in which he had said that Kashmir issue should resolved in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris, has said that such statements always work as encouraging factors for those who are in the ground working for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute including Kashmiris.
“It is also for the first time that COAS of Pakistan has stated so and has termed Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan, and it is indeed a thing to be applauded,” the Brussels-based Tramboo said in a statement.
He said Kashmiris hope that these statements are not only the statements and that concrete steps will be taken in near future to address the long standing issue.
“We hope that Pakistan will pressurize India on every possible level to address the issue and to come with a solution which will be in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people of J&K and in line with the UNSC resolution. The resolution will finally result into the long lasting peace in the region, and to achieve that K-resolution is imperative,” Tramboo said.
Barrister Tramboo, while paying glowing tributes to Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Nawa Kadal, said the “martyrs are the assets of the nation and the people should struggle for their cause, for which they gave their lives.” He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in Srinagar and in other parts of the valley from last three days.
Barrister Tramboo has condemned the police action in which various pro-freedom leaders especially Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Muhammad Yousuf Naqash.
