5 killed in mishaps

Udhampur/Srinagar: Three people were killed and seven others were today injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling veered off the road and rolled down the hill in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The vehicle, which was carrying 11 people, was on its way from Barmeen to Udhampur, skidded off the road and rolled down hill on a empty house in the Barmeen belt today, police said.
Three people were killed and seven others were injured while one escaped without any injury, they said, adding that injured were hospitalised in a near by hospital.
Meanwhile, two people were killed when a Sumo( JK05C/9538) fell into a gorge at Dardkote in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Majeed Najar and Bashir Ahmed Cheechi, both residents of Dardkote, while another passenger Nazir Ahmed Khan, also a resident of Dardkote, was injured in the accident. Police has registered a case in this regard.
