JKSM chairman arrested

Srinagar: Senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement chairman Zaffer Akbar Bhat was arrested on Monday and detained in Police Station Sadar Chanpora.
According to a JKSM spokesman, a heavy contingent of police raided the residence of Bhat at Bagh-e-Mehtab. Bhat was scheduled to visit central Kashmir areas in connection with the election boycott campaign.
The spokesman condemned Bhat’s arrest as “worst kind (of) state terrorism.” He said that over dozen leaders and activists of JKSM have been arrested and detained in several police stations of the city.
“By arresting the pro-freedom leaders, activists and youths of the Valley, India has accepted defeat,” the spokesman added.
