SRINAGAR: The VB Higher Secondary School, Rainawari Sunday were declared overall winners in the boys’ category event of the 3rd Rope Skipping Challenge School that was held at Modern Era Public Secondary School Saida Kadal.
The event was organized by The J&K Hussaini Sports Club Hassanabad, in which, acoording to the organizers’ estimates, more than 250 players took part.
VB pocketed total of 13 medals, followed by The Elites Co-Ed School Nishat that grabbed 9.
Modern Era School had to contend with the third spot, winning half a dozen medals.
The story wasn’t any different in girls’ group, with The VB Higher Secondary School Rainawari again winning the championship with their medal tally reading 15 at the end of the day.
Scholars School, Natipora got the second spot with eight and Muwest School, Saida Kadal finished third in the medals’ column winning six of them.
The other schools who took part in the Championship were British School Nowgam, Classic Public School Magam, Sane Kids School Gojwara and Sheikh-ul-Alam School Narwara.
Chairman Modern Era Public School Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat was the chief guest and Sheikh Tulal Ahmad ,Manager Sports, J&K State Sports Council, was the guest of honour.
Organizing Secretary Ahsan Ali said that they are planning to organize Run for Nigeen Lake (Boys) and Run for ‘Save Girl Child’ in collaboration with J&K Sports Development Association next month.
