Srinagar: An impressive function was held Friday in Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) here in connection with the 76th death anniversary of Allama Iqbal.
Former Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Ajaz Ahmad Kukroo and Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Ganaie of the Iqbal Institute, University of Kashmir, were the chief guest and the guest of honour, respectively.
“Kukroo and Ganaie explained Iqbal’s message and his teachings to the youth in a scholarly way. They shed light on Iqbal’s relevance to present times and explained the poet’s remedies to the maladies afflicting our society, in general and your youth, in particular,” according to a GVEI statement.
Students also presented papers and shared their views with the audience. Iqbal’s verses were sung by students and choruses were presented by the school orchestra in a very impressive manner, the statement added.
