SRINAGAR: KFC Sopore, Valley Soccer won their respective matches while 3 Star Blues Baramulla and Eidgah Sopore engaged themselves in a draw in the league phase of the 3rd Rashid Memorial 7-A Side State Championship played at Khushall Sports Stadium Sopore on Friday.
KFC Sopore had better off Northern FC in the first game of the day with winning team scoring a goal each in each half. KFC drew first blood early in the piece, finding the net in the 10 minute. Northern FC did try every trick to find an equalizer, but to no avail even as teams went into the half time break with KFC Sopore in the lead.
KFC Sopore strengthened their hold on the proceedings, getting their second to make it 2-0 in their favour. The scoreline didn’t alter till the final whistle was blown.
Valley Soccer Club, Sopore proved too hot for Hatishah Football Club with former thrashing the latter by 5-0. Valley Soccer Club dominated the proceedings right from the word go, finding goals at ease to make it lopsided affair.
Final match of the day played between Three Star Blues Baramulla and Eidgah Sopore ended draw with a score-line of 1-1. Both teams shared a point each.
Three Star Blues took lead in the first half of the match and maintained it till the dying moments of the match, but Eidgah Sopore made a stunning comeback to make it 1-1.
The tournament is being organized by J&K 7-A Side Soccer Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Development Association.
