India’s premier wellness brand, VLCC forays into Kashmir

SRINAGAR: VLCC, a premier Indian beauty and wellness brand with operations in more than 16 countries, has launched its beauty and fitness centre in this summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Srinagar centre is a franchise of VLCC owned by a local restaurateur, Mudasir Ahmed Bhat, who has previously worked as a sales executive in the Gulf. However, it is his wife and a beauty enthusiast, Nida Mudasir who has undertaken the charge of the centre since its launch in March.
“We wanted to bring this brand here primarily to make world class beauty and fitness services available to people of Kashmir.” Nida told
Kashmir Reader. “Though we have number of beauty salons present here, but none would offer you all the services related to beauty, fitness and wellness. To fill that gap and provide a single place to the customer we decided to bring the VLCC here.”
Nida said VLCC has very high standard of services with ethically and socially relevant practices in the field of beauty and health.
The ISO 9001:2000 certified wellness company, has presence in almost all major cities of India and 16 other countries across South Asia, South East Asia and the Middle East.
Besides the company’s regular bouquet of beauty services, VLCC claims the first of its kind centre in the Valley to provide high-class skin care and haircare treatment facilities with latest trends and technologies.
“Our main motive is customer satisfaction. I want my customers to be happy with the services of my staff,” said Nida.
The centre has four employees all of whom are either trained at VLCC academy or another premier beauty brand of India, Shahnaz Hussain.
“My staff is my biggest strength. It is the one thing I can vouch for.
In addition to the services they provide, they take pains in making the client comfortable and at ease,” said Nida.
The team of beauticians is lead by Nishaat Fatima, head trainer, beauty counselor and skin expert at VLCC-Srinagar. With remarkable knowledge and experience in the field of beauty and grooming, Nishaat claims to be one of the oldest staff members of Vandana Luthra, CEO of VLCC.
“Many clients that I cater to here told me that they used to go to Delhi’s VLCC to avail these services and express their joy over its launch in Srinagar,” Fatima said, adding, “The knowledge in this field is what gives us strength to compete with other salons that might be functioning here.”
As per Fatima, it is only after proper examination of client’s skin, any further treatment is advised, which is a novel concept in Kashmir.
“Before giving any treatments, we go for ‘skin analysis test’, in order to get a deeper understanding of the client’s skin and its problems. We have complete knowledge of beauty and wellness and provide genuine products to our clients,” said Fatima, who has professional training in cosmetology, hair dressing and beauty art from London.
Nida said they are planning to set up slimming centre, one of the main attractions of the VLCC, in near future and a grooming academy as well.
“Since we have spacing concerns that is why we couldn’t set up slimming centre but will now do it soon. We are also planning on opening a grooming academy where Kashmiri girls can have certified courses both short term and long term of different forms of grooming,” added Fatima.
The owners and groomers both say that the response till today has been overwhelming with more than 11 clients seeking their services per day.
“The staff is highly professional and cordial. The services are effective and customized according to ones needs,” said a customer, Noureen (surname withheld on request).
