PDP Sarpanch, numberdar, son shot dead in Tral

Pampore: Suspected militants shot dead a Sarpanch and a village headman and his son in separate attacks in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday night, police sources said.
They said the assailants barged into the house of PDP Sarpanch Ghulam Nabi Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan, at Batagund, Tral, and fired upon the inmates. Mir, a former BDO, died on the spot while his son Firdous Ahmed sustained injuries. Firdous, a Villager Level Worker, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, the sources told Kashmir Reader.
In another incident, gunmen fired upon numberdar Mohammad Anwar Sheikh, son of Mohammad Sidiq at Amlar village, leaving him injured. Sheikh was shifted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the sources said.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks.
