Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference(G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has said irrespective of whoever assumes power in Jammu and Kashmir the state will continue to be “ruled by the Indian Home Ministry.”
“ It does not matter who wins the elections because the state of Jammu and Kashmir is ultimately ruled by the Indian Home Ministry and nothing can happen here without their consent,” Geelani said, according to a statement, while, speaking to a delegation of people from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The first priority of people should be the protection of their lives, property and honor, he said, adding that people should not fall for the “bogus promises of water, electricity and roads made by pro-India politicians at the time of elections.”
“National Conference, PDP, Congress, People’s Conference or any other pro-India party are all same and partners in crime against the Kashmiri people. Whether the chair of chief ministership is held by Omar Abdullah, Mufti Sayeed or somebody else, he actual control of the administration and other issues lies in the hands of the policy makers of New Delhi,” Geelani said.
Geelani said the “Abdullahs, Muftis, Azads and other pro-India leaders are mere showpieces while the actual power lies with the Indian Home Ministry.”
Geelani also condemned the “arrest spree launched by police against Hurriyet leaders and activists.”
“ The so-called government has accepted defeat and is using the police to suppress its political opponents,” he said.
