Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Peoples League under the leadership of its chairman Bashir Ahmad Tota on Friday paid homage to slain Hurriyat leader S Hameed Wani on his 16th death anniversary at Mazar-e-Shuhada here.
All the senior leaders of League including Haji Farooq, Ghulam Nabi Darzi, Malik Manzur, Sahibzada Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Maqbool Sofi, Mohammad Ataf Matto, Maqsood Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad Makhdoomi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem, Zahoor Ahmad Shiekh, Haji Qazus, and chairman Peoples Political Front, Musadiq Aadil, General Secretary, Abdul Majeed Wani, chairman Islamic Political Party Mohammad Yousuf Naqash and leader of Tehreek Hurriyat Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh also participated in the fateh khawani.
While paying glowing tributes to S Hameed, Bashir Ahmad Tota, Haji Farooq and other speakers said that “these valiant martyrs laid their lives for freedom from the illegitimate occupation of India. We will never allow their supreme sacrifices and mission go waste and will not stop till the ongoing freedom movement reaches its logical conclusion. They further said that Pakistan is our true well-wisher and is extending moral political and diplomatic support to the ongoing freedom movement,” a statement said.
A League delegation led by Tota also visited Ahmad Nagar and paid tributes to the “martyrs there and expressed solidarity with the families of those who houses were damaged and ransacked by Indian forces,” the statement added.
