Malik still in police custody

Srinagar: JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik remained in police custody for the second day while as the zonal chief of the pro-independence outfit Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri was arrested by police during a nocturnal raid last night.
Malik was picked up by the police from his Maisuma residence yesterday ahead of an anti-election rally he was scheduled to lead in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A JKLF spokesman said that “despite these undemocratic measures JKLF leaders and activists visited many villages, towns and other important places in central Kashmir Budgam and Ganderbal districts and urged people to stay away from the sham election process.”
