First of its kind medical procedure at JLNM

Srinagar: A life-saving device was implanted Friday in a 50-year-old woman at JLNM Hospital here.
The woman, a resident of Soura, Srinagar, was suffering from recurrent syncopal attacks and needed cardiac pacing as treatment. This procedure was done for the first time in the hospital by two eminent cardiologists, Dr Shahid Iqbal and Dr Kaiser Habib, under the supervision of Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman.
Meanwhile, the DHSK has complimented the JLNM Hospital for achieving the feat.
Meanwhile, DHSK is organizing a second free reconstructive (plastic surgery) surgical camp in collaboration  with INTERPLAST Germany at JLNM Hospital here.
An official handout said the camp will be held from April 28 to May 9.
“Patients in need of reconstructive surgeries are hereby requested to get themselves screened and registered at the JLNM Hospital on or before April 25,” it said.
Last year also, DHSK had held a similar camp in collaboration with INTERPLAST, which is a Germany-based internationally acclaimed non-profit organization.
