Nepalese man dies in mishap

PAMPORE: A man from Nepal died after being hit by a vehicle on the Jammu-Srinagar highway here on Thursday.
Pampore police was informed by some locals that a dead body was lying near the Court Complex Drangbal. A police party rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the spot.
The deceased was later identified as Lachiman Tieng, 45, son of Karnang, a resident of Nepal, who was working in Khyber Cement Factory at Khanmoh.
The deceased had been hit by a speedy vehicle, said police officials, adding that the vehicle had fled from the spot after hitting the man.
Meanwhile, after completing all medico-legal formalities, the man’s body was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
